Facial Fat Injections
Natural body fat also makes an excellent dermal filler. This procedure known as fat injections uses your own body’s natural fat in the same manner as BOTOX®, Restylane®,other treatments . Fat injections can be used to add definition to the head and reduce frown lines, crow’s feet, and smile lines.
There are many benefits to fat injections. Because it comes from your own body, it is completely non-allergenic. The procedure is fast and painless, lasting less than one hour, but lasts for several months. Some injections are even permanent!
Fat is generally pulled from the abdomen, buttock, or thighs. The donor site is injected with a local anesthetic to ensure a painless extraction. A very small needle attached to a syringe is used to extract the necessary amount of fat to be injected. Patients usually require three to four treatments spread over six months for optimal results.
